Carbon Tax to Renewables

Real Climate Action calls for the use of of carbon tax revenues to finance the transition to 100% sustainable green energy. In Canada, governments have been adopting carbon taxes and cap and trade systems as tools to reduce carbon emissions. British Columbia and Alberta have both implemented carbon taxes while Quebec and Ontario have put carbon cap-and-trade systems in place. Recently, the Federal government announced its intention to set a minimum carbon tax that will be imposed on Provinces that do not create their own regime, with funds returned to the Province from which it is collected. Real Climate Action advocates for the use of carbon tax revenues to help finance the transition to 100% sustainable green energy in Canada, including solar, wind, geothermal and biofuels.
